Temple to Temple Steeplechase
The steeplechase is a sport
that began as a race through the countryside
from one church steeple to another
with natural obstacles to cross along the way.

Our steeplechase is a personal race
– a wonderful journey from temple to temple steeple –
with symbolic obstacles to cross along the way.

South Jordan is the first city in the world to have two LDS temples – Oquirrh Mountain and Jordan River. Come join our neighborhood 5 mile steeplechase between these two Angel Moroni-capped steeples. Open your eyes to the glories around you (sunrise, mountaintops, valley views, flowers). And learn that no steeplechase would be complete without a few obstacles to hurdle along the way (highways, canals, gutters, bumps). Find metaphors of life throughout the course of this inspiring Temple to Temple Steeplechase. Run or walk - but enjoy the journey!

So go out and choose your own adventure and complete a 5K, 10K, 13.1 or 26.2 mile run (or walk) and then go and read a book!

Plus, at least 15% of every registration will go to Books for Africa. “A simple name for an organization with a simple mission. We collect, sort, ship, and distribute books to students of all ages in Africa. Our goal: to end the book famine in Africa.”

Moonlight Half Marathon
This is a race to see who can cross
the finish line closest to midnight
without crossing it too early. There
will be no timing devices allowed.
You start when you think it will be
the right time so you can cross the
finish line at midnight.

This is meant to be a fun run, so we will start about 9:00 or 10:00pm. Slower runners earlier, faster runners later, (you decide exactly when). Awards will be given for the first across the finish line after midnight. No timing devices will be allowed. This way those of us that never win a race have a chance. It will be a full moon and we will have glow necklaces and bracelets. Most people will cross the finish line around midnight, then the after party begins. There will be lots of food and we will have music. This will be a fund raising event for the Mapleton Parkway Trail. We are somewhat limited to the number of people we can accomodate so sign up as soon as possible. Go to active.com to sign up. Of course all this is subject to change.

Included in the package are:
- Glow Necklaces
- Food after the race
- Nice, breathable runners shirt
- There will be a medal for every finisher of the race

Susan Sandoval Memorial 5K
Join Us for the 11th Annual Run! The Susan Sandoval 5K for Ovarian Cancer Awareness is an annual event that takes place each fall in Sugar House Park. The event is named in honor of Susan Sandoval, a nurse at LDS and Primary Children’s hospitals who battled ovarian cancer.

Beginning with 400 participants in 2007, the race continues to raise money each year for the Ovarian Cancer Education, Awareness, and Research Fund. The fund increases awareness of the risk factors and symptoms of gynecologic cancers and contributes to innovative research. Participation in the race not only honors Susan Sandoval’s memory, but also the struggles of all who have been touched by gynecologic cancer.

Cedar City Half Marathon
Cedar City Half Marathon is one of the most spectacular downhill closed-canyon runs anywhere. Registration is now open for this year's event to be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. Runners will be shuttled to the base of Cedar Breaks National Monument at Woods Ranch in Cedar Canyon. The 7 am start time and closed canyon allows runners to hear the sounds of Coal Creek and Aspen leaves quaking as they wind through eons of geologic formations to the mouth of Cedar Canyon. There sandstone pyramids mark the intersection of the Great Basin with the Great Rocky Mountain formations. Runners will transition from Highway 14 to the Coal Creek Trail System running along the creek and going under quaint road bridges to the finish line at Bicentennial Soccer Fields.

The Cedar City Half is a perfect high-altitude trainer for those preparing for full marathons held a few weeks later, including the St. George marathon.
This 13.1 mile closed-canyon course is one of the nation's fastest as runners decend from 8,408 feet in elevation (Lat-Long: 37.594145 N, -112.912180 W). to 5,600 feet at the finish line in Cedar City near the Bicentennial Soccer Fields.

Bus loading will be at Bicentennial Park, next to the finish line by the soccer fields, and will take the runners up Cedar Canyon to the Start Line near Woods Ranch.

Clothing Bag Pickup will be near the finish line by the refreshments and award stand areas.

Coal Creek Trail Run: is a new addition to the Cedar City Half Marathon race day. We have formally retired the 5K and have introduced the Coal Creek Trail Run (about 3 miles). This race will start on Coal Creek Trail at the mouth of Cedar Canyon and end at the half marathon's finish line at Bicentennial Soccer Complex. Adults and children of all ages (including babies) are invited to attend this run. (Strollers will be allowed). Please note: no medals will be given to those who participate in the Trail Run event.

Please note: You must register before July 31, to be guaranteed your shirt size.

Addict II Athlete 5k
The 2017 Addict II Athlete 5K is officially open for registration. This has been a devastating year for those who have battled addiction and for family members who have struggled with a loved one's addiction. On average right now in our communities, within the United States of America, 144 people lose their lives daily due to opiate-based addictions and overdoses. And that's only one substance.

Team Addict II Athlete has suffered several accounts of this epidemic on our team. In October 2016 Athlete Brandon Black, a kind, warmhearted athlete lost his battle and took a knee due to this overpowering opiate addiction. As a result to bring awareness, show support for his family and to bring awareness to our communities that this is a real epidemic, team Addict II Athlete will carry the message of awareness, recovery and compassion to his community, his hometown of Salem, Utah.

This free 5K will serve as a proxy runner event. A proxy runner is a loved one who uses their legs in honor of a loved one who has lost the battle to addiction or as a sign of love for a family member or loved one who is still battling addiction.

We express as a team our deepest condolences for those who have received the call, felt the void or missed that family member and friend because of addiction. Team Addict II Athlete stands behind you. We are your support system and your team to help you turn the mess of addiction and loss into the message of hope and healing. To assist us as we erase addiction and replace it with family, love, support and awareness in this service oriented activity.

As head coach of team Addict II Athlete I invite you to participate and to run alongside, as proxy for those who have lost their battle and to invoke hope for those who are on the pathway to healing. Register today and we'll see you at the starting line.

Little Grand Canyon Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K
The Little Grand Canyon Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K have all been given the USATF Certification (Requirement to run in the Boston Marathon). The requirements to fulfill the USATF Certification are fairly complex and it is the Track and Field standard for official races. The official times will be posted after the race.

This is the only Marathon and Half Marathon where you get to run through the Little Grand Canyon in Eastern Utah and see some of the most pristine scenery in the world. This area is also known as the San Rafael Swell or BuckHorn Wash. These towering Red Rocks are not only Majestic but they tell the Geological timetable as you run through the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous Era’s. There are actual dinosaur footprints on the side of the road and you run in front of one of the largest Native American Pictograph Panels in the State(The BuckHorn Panel).

Due to this exclusive location and the multiple Paleontological and Archeological vista’s, this is the only run of its kind. This is a limited run and is not for runners that enjoy running in large crowds and in great cities, this is for the scenic-runner that enjoys the tranquility and beauty of running in nature.
