Komen Salt Lake City Race for the Cure
Whose Life Are You Running For? Participate in the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Salt Lake City Race for the Cure® and show everyone whose life you are running for. Are you running for your mother, your sister, a co-worker, a friend? Are you running for your own life? Or are you running for the future? No matter whose life you are running for, now is the time to get involved and run for their life!

Up to 75% of net proceeds from the Salt Lake City Komen Race for the Cure stay in Utah to fund local education, screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent goes to fund national research to discover the causes of breast cancer and, ultimately, its cures.

We anticipate over 16,000 participants at the 2012 Race, so start recruiting your team now! Our goal is to raise $500,000 with this event and we need your help to reach our goal! If every participant raised $100 above their registration fee we would have an additional $1.7 million to grant to programs that support women in Utah! YOU CAN make an IMPACT!!

Comb Ridge Classic Half Marathon & 10k
The Comb Ridge Classic offers runners the chance to have a hands-on experience of geological history while running a challenging route. Runners will experience the sharp ridges, breathtaking views, and flat wash of the Ridge. Comb Ridge was the home to Ancestral Puebloans. It was traversed by Mormon Pioneers in their efforts to settle southern Utah. With few roads or hiking trails, the Comb Ridge rises up to 900 feet above the flat wash. The ridge is a geological monocline, a single fold of earth created almost 65 million years ago by slippage of the tectonic plates deep below the Earth's surface.

Half Marathon Trail Run ($75) - Runners will start in a shallow wash, climb up the ridge, traverse back down the steep ridge face, and end in the flat wash below the ridge. This is a fun and challenging race, so come prepared! Start: 9:00 am

10K Fun Run ($35) - Runners will have a fun run along a dirt road at the bottom of the Comb Ridge. This race is open to all level runners. Start: 9:00 am

Packet Pick Up:

Saturday, May 13, 2017
8:00 am to 9:00 am
Comb Wash Campground (run site)
We will not have a packet pick up prior to the run day.

Run Rules: Come with a positive attitude! Runners are expected to maintain appropriate etiquette on the trail and throughout the event. Because of the geological and archeological treasures along the route, all runners should take care to stay on designated trails. Permitting regulations require us to report any runner who intentionally leaves the route - so please do your best to stay on the designated route.

Parking and Staging Location: All runners should park in the Comb Wash Campground - just south of Highway 95 at the beginning of San Juan Country Road 235.

From Blanding Utah, take Highway 95 West 14.1 miles. Turn left onto Comb Wash Road (dirt road).

All runs will end at the Comb Wash Campground.

Strides for Autism benefiting Utah Autism Academy
“Strides for Autism” is a sanctioned 5K run and 1 mile fun run/walk. Our 5K will start at 8:00 am and our 1 Mile at 9:00 am. Funds from Strides for Autism will support the mission of Utah Autism Academy by helping to "connect our worlds". By providing resources to better gain government, support, increase community resources, train and advocate in the public education sector and provide opportunities for families impacted by autism and the general community to more effectively come together, we have a broader reach for appropriate and successful inclusion. as well as provide families the opportunity to gather and celebrate their loved ones with autism.
This event is organized by a Utah family who is dedicated to supporting their grandson, nephew, cousin, brother, son and friend Riley Nelson. Riley was diagnosed with autism at 23 months of age after his extensive speech vocabulary diminished to nothing. He is currently 15 years old and continues to work to make sounds but is still considered non-verbal. Riley’s family is dedicated to providing him with the best support possible and in this effort continues to change the future for ALL individuals affected by autism.
