Welcome to the home for the first annual Herriman Black Ridge Triathlon. The Black Ridge Reservoir is a newly completed water basin in the foothills of southwest Salt Lake City just above Herriman and Riverton Cities. This venue is perfect for a fast and fun sprint distance course. There will be two transition areas, with T1 at the reservoir and T2 at nearby Butterfield Park. Athletes will swim 500 yds in the reservoir then ride a 14 mile clockwise loop down around Herriman City and into Butterfield Park to begin their 5k run loop along the footpaths and return to Butterfield Park for the finish. The race is capped at 300 athletes so get registered asap to reserve your spot!

US Speedskating and the Utah Olympic Oval have teamed up to launch the Stride & Glide 5k Run, Skate Clinic and Health Expo on August 14, 2010 at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns, UT. Participants of all ages are invited to run a fun 5k course with an Olympian. Following the run, runners can trade their running shoes for a pair of skates to participate in a learn-to speed skate clinic taught by US Speedskating Olympians and National Team members on the “Fastest Ice on Earth” at the Oval, site of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

This TEAM TSA event, executed by the TSA Utah Chapter, will be a 5K Walk/ Run at Draper Park and is intended to raise funds for programs and services to help people living with TS in Utah as well as support national efforts to find a cure for Tourette Syndrome.

Come join us and SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! This event honors those US military heroes who have been injured in war. Our freedom as Americans is a gift that many have sacrificed for, please join us in honoring our true heroes. Proceeds from this 5K event will benefit Military Service Members who have been injured in war zones.

The Liberty Park Challenge is a 5k run/walk to raise awareness of childhood obesity. Matt Livermanne, a Salt Lake resident, will be walking from NYC to Los Angeles in just 54 days to break a world record, raise money for elementary school P.E. programs, and bring awareness to the growing problem of childhood obesity, one step at a time. This event is an opportunity for members of the community to show their support for Matt and all those kids throughout the U.S. who are dealing with weight issues. This course will take your breath away! For the 5k, you will ride the lift to the top to begin the adventure. From there you will take the Pine Creek trail down to the bottom be prepared to go up, down and run around on some beautiful single track. For the 10k, you will start at the bottom and work your way to the top and then begin your trek down the Pine Creek Trail. The start/finish will be the base which is more than family friendly. Photos and a GPS profile will be posted shortly.

Lace up your old running shoes for the 2010 Gary's Shoes 5K/10K and you might just win a NEW pair! Both courses have several miles of hard packed dirt roads, and are very flat and fast. Both races begin and end at the Richfield City Office.

The Hobble Creek 1/2 Marathon strives to be Utah's premier 1/2 Marathon event. The course is fast with rolling hills and is a great place to set a PR (Personal Record) or tune up for a fall marathon. Hobble Creek is a classy, beautiful, and fast 1/2 Marathon.

Marathon:
Start time is 6:30 AM for the Marathon. This unique, scenic alpine loop course starts out from the Newpark Plaza and onto Highland Drive. A quick right/left at 1.5 miles puts the runners through the gentle upgrade of the Trailside residential area and past Trailside school/park. At this point the runners will be merged onto the paved bike path, and will make a left at Highland Drive. Rolling downhill for approximately 1 mile, runners then turn right (tiny bit rough here, watch your footing) and through the first tunnel of the course, which goes under the highway and onto the quiet paved road which terminates at the Historic Rail Trail. Runners then turn right and proceed along the smooth gravel Rail Trail for approximately 7 miles of gentle upgrade (2%), past open grazing land (yes, sometimes there are cows on the path) and beaver ponds. There is one road crossing in this section, manned by Utah Highway Patrol. The Rail Trail welcomes the runners into Park City with paved/gravel pathways. Upon crossing Bonanza Drive (traffic controlled by Park City’s finest), runners will continue the upward trend on the paved Poison Creek Trail (a remnant of our mining history) through City Park. Look to your right for great views of some 2002 Olympic ski runs. Traversing several short tunnels (one painted with a mural depiction of Park City’s mining heritage), the runners begin the top loop section, running to the base of the Deer Valley Resort, and the high point of the course. Upon reaching the Snow Park Lodge, the course flattens before turning downhill. Upon returning to the Poison Creek Trail, the course then turns west and guides runners through a fun section which has them running down the middle of an open shopping mall, a pedestrian bridge over Main Street, and across a skier bridge. A short, steep uphill ‘blip’ puts runners at the top of Empire Avenue and the start of the mostly downhill cruise to the finish. Runners will be on quiet city streets as they head past the Park City Mountain Resort, and along the rolling hills near the municipal golf course and headquarters for the Sundance Film Festival and back onto a paved bike path which takes runners to the historic McPolin barn depicted on our logo and finisher t-shirts. Another tunnel, some wood plank bridges over the pristine wetlands of the Swaner Nature Preserve and a paved bike path return to Newpark Plaza--it’s pretty enough to (almost) want to do it again!

Half Marathon:
The half marathon will start at 6:45 AM following the same start as the marathon but quickly turning toward town (south) along a paved bike path. This out-and-back design takes runners on the last six miles of the Marathon course, from the Fieldhouse south towards Park City on paved and smooth gravel bike paths adjacent to the Swaner Nature Preserve, with numerous wood plank bridges over creeks and wetlands. The course goes through a tunnel and past the McPolin barn shown on our logo and finisher t-shirts, and continues on a gentle uphill trend through quiet residential areas. The turn around point is near Rotary Park, with an aid station manned by the Sundance Institute (not sure if Robert Redford will actually be in attendance though).

Sinner Six 10k (Sunday, August 22, 2010)
This inaugural costume-encouraged race starts at 7 AM from the Newpark Plaza. Dress up as your idea of a Sinner (please, no nudity!) and have some fun in this limited-entry race, a fairly flat loop course through the bike paths and quiet streets south of the Plaza.

The 5th Annual Wasatch Wellness Run (formerly Race for Recovery) 10k, 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk is bound to be a fantastic event again this year. Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week is just one of the reasons to bring the entire family and join us for this exciting event. ALL proceeds will directly benefit members of Wasatch Mental Health. You won't want to miss this event. Whether you're a competitive runner or not, the Wasatch Wellness Run is for everyone!

The race will have several divisions with awards given to the top finishers in each. $100 - Overall 10k Winners. $50 - Overall 5k Winners. Our famous breakfast will be served right after the race as well as a random drawing.

This is a family friendly wellness event that gets everyone physically active, enjoying the outdoors, and having fun. The 5K run/walk starts at Legacy Events Center in Farmington going along 1100 W. to 500 S. to 650 W. to Glover’s Lane and back. Registration fee includes t-shirt, prizes, and refreshments for 5K participants.

Race starts and finishes at Barnes Park. This is a very flat, fast course. Great 5K to run a PR!!
