Description of Race Events
The Marathon starts at 5:30 A.M. at the top of Big Mountain, above Emigration Canyon. Race temperature in the canyon is normally 40 and in the valley is normally 75. The marathon has a 3200 foot elevation drop.
THIS MARATHON IS USATF SANCTIONED AND CERTIFIED AND IS A BOSTON MARATHON QUALIFIER.
The 10K will start at 6:00 A.M.at Research Park on Chipeta Way (University of Utah campus)
I am the Future 5K Walk:
Walk starts at 7:00 A.M. at the EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple. It is non-competitive and not timed. All walkers will receive a t-shirt and souvenir.
Additional Race Information
Marathon buses will depart from the EnergySolutions Arena and Rice - Eccles Stadium at 3:15 and 3:45 a.m. to go to the top of Big Mountain. Do not plan on driving to the top. Also, please do not wait until the 3:45 bus as it may pose a problem if too many people plan on the late bus.
