Description of Race Events
This race starts on Antelope Island and runs across the island then up a causeway off the island to the city of Layton. The island has over 600 head of Buffalo roaming freely on it.
Additional Race Information
Race Day Details
4:30AM - 5:15AM Drop car at Ellison Park in Layton. There will be a bus that will pick you up and drive you to Fielding Garr Ranch on Antelope Island. The race will start at 6:00AM. The last bus will leave the Park at 5:15AM. Do not be late. Try to carpool because we are limited on parking that is not in the dirt.
Packet Pickup
There will be a few packet pickups announced. One will be Friday October 8, 2010 in Layton location to be announced. The last chance packet pick up will be Saturday Morning from 4:30AM - 5:00AM at Ellison Park in Layton.
Aid Stations
There will be one aid station every two miles on the course with water and Hammer Nutrition Products. If you have someone willing to volunteer for this please have them register online on the website. www.laytonmarathon.com
Course Description
The course is primarily flat with some rolling hills around mile 7. The elevation change on the entire course only changes slightly. It only climbs 200 feet at the most from the start and declines only 100 feet. On Antelope Island you will find buffalo and other wild life that roam wild. |
